Teenage winger Hilary Molkada has emerged as one of the standout performers at the Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO) Alade Stadium 1 Centre after inspiring Chekas FC to a dominant group-stage campaign.
The exciting youngster played a crucial role in helping Chekas FC finish top of Alade Stadium 1 Group 7, delivering impressive performances that troubled defenders throughout the competition.
Molkada contributed two goals and three assists in four matches, becoming one of the key attacking players behind Chekas FC’s successful run to the playoff stage.
The Plateau State-born winger currently plays for Chekas United and continues to attract attention with his pace, creativity, and fearless attacking style.
Speaking about his football journey, Molkada revealed that his career started at a very young age while growing up in the Onitsha Army Barracks.
“I started my career as a kid when I was five years old from Onitsha Army Barracks,” Molkada told Sports247.
The talented winger explained that his breakthrough came after attending trials organized by Chekas United in Anambra State, where his performances earned him an invitation to join the Lagos-based side.
“I got invited for trials in Anambra organized by Chekas United, and after my impressive performance, I was invited to join the team in Lagos,” Molkada added.
Since joining Chekas United, the teenager believes his game has improved significantly under the guidance of his coaches and the opportunities provided by the club.
“My career has skyrocketed since joining Chekas United. I have been transformed into a beast by following the instructions of my coaches and taking advantage of the opportunities presented by the team,” he stated.
Molkada also shared his ambitions of becoming a professional footballer and positively impacting the lives of people around him.
“My ambition is to go pro and change the lives of those around me,” he said while naming Argentine legend Lionel Messi as his football role model.
Reflecting on his NLO experience, the young winger said the competition has taught him valuable lessons, especially patience and mental strength.
“I have experienced a whole lot from playing in the NLO. Most importantly, I learned to be patient in all situations no matter the result at that moment,” he explained.
Chekas FC will now face Hephzibah FC, winners of Alade Stadium 2, in a playoff clash that will determine the overall Alade Stadium champions.
The winner of the encounter will advance to the Lagos State playoffs, where clubs will compete for the available promotion slots into the Nigeria National League (NNL).
