Swedish club IF Elfsborg have announced the transfer of midfielder Oladimeji Abdulmuiz, who will be 18 in the summer.

Abdulmuiz has signed from Beyond Limits Academy in Ikenne.

The youngster, who goes by the nickname “Muiz”, has signed a contract with the Borås club that extends until the summer of 2029.

“It’s a very nice feeling and I’m happy to be here,” Abdulmuiz told the official website of Elfsborg.

“I simply like to control and play forward, but I am also good at chasing and putting pressure when we don’t have the ball within the team. I look forward to coming in and helping the team, and that we will win a lot together.”

Elfsborg’s club manager Stefan Andreasson has welcomed the talent.

“In competition with several clubs, we have now, after good discussions with Beyond Limits , bought Muiz and he has signed a contract until the summer of 2029,” he stated.

“Muiz will now first be with us during an introductory period to get to know the business, then the formal transition will take place in connection with his 18th birthday in June when he will be part of our A-team squad.

“We warmly welcome Muiz and it will be very exciting to follow his continued development with us.”

Published

Record keepers have questioned the 100 caps for the Super Eagles credited to Alex Iwobi.

The Super Eagles presented the Fulham star with a plaque to mark his milestone appearance before Wednesday night’s friendly against Portugal.

However, the records showed that FIFA chalked off a 2018 World Cup qualifier in Algeria after the game was forfeited by Nigeria for fielding an ineligible player – Shehu Abdullahi.

Also, FIFA also chalked off a friendly against Togo in 2017 because of the record number of substitutes played in the game.

That would then mean that Iwobi is on 98 caps, two games away from the Century milestone…
