Super Eagles coach presents 19-point proposal to NFF

Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has submitted a 19-point proposal to the NFF, which will include a monthly salary of $130,000 to cover he and his hand-picked assistants as well as there should be no interference in his call-up of players to the Super Eagles and team selection.

He is currently on a monthly salary of $50,000 from which he also pays his assistants.

According to journalist Shina Oludare, the proposal was submitted to the NFF on January 22, 2026.

Oludare has posted the proposal on X today.

Here it is unedited –

1. Private car (SUV) with a chauffeur and security.

2. House in a well secured environment with 24hrs uninterrupted power supply (electricity).

3. Furnished office with projector for analysis.

4. Internet provision.

5. Flight tickets for wife and two children (Eric and wife Business class) children economy.

6. GPS provision.

7. Supply of proper equipment in accordance to the coach’s demand.

8. Based on opponents, the coach has the right of choice regarding int’l friendly matches.

9. Camping programs.

10. The coach will initiate programs for youth development.

11. Provision for the coach to travel, watch, monitor and engage players of the national teams abroad.

12. Provision for the coach to travel to watch the local league to identify potential players that will be integrated in to senior national team, A U23, U20 and U17.

13. No Interference in team selection and players call up.

14. The NFF has to issue a working contract for my staffs.

15. Salary needs to be paid on or before 30th of every month.

16. Bonus and allowance as per federation structure.

17. Request to include my PA in the bonus and allowance structure.

18. Proposed salary of $130,000.00 (One hundred and thirty thousand dollars) monthly. The amount included all my technical staffs and PA.

19. Monthly meeting with all the national team coaches.

Flying Eagles winger completes Saudi Arabia switch

Flying Eagles winger Sani Suleiman has officially sealed a permanent transfer to Saudi Arabian club Al Qadsiah.

He did his routine medicals in Madrid, Spain, before he headed out to Saudi Arabia.

The 20-year-old winger failed to meet high expectations at Bundesliga club RB Liepzig, when he signed up in January.

The transfer to Saudi Arabia is worth around 10 million euros.

He has now signed a three-year contract with an option for an additional year.

Falconets get Semenya boost for World Cup clash vs China

Falconets of Nigeria have received a major boost ahead of today’s crucial U20 World Cup clash against China after Benfica striker Janet ‘Semenya’ Akekoromowei rejoined the squad.

Nigeria have been in a tug-of-war with Benfica over the striker’s release for the World Cup.

She was the first player to arrive in Poland for the tournament only for her Portuguese club to order her back to base after claiming they did not clear her for the competition.

The Falconets lacked fire power when they fell 2-0 to European champions Spain in their opening group game and Semenya, who has been capped by both the Super Falcons and Flamingos, will now be expected to be thier main goals threat.

China re top of the group after a 5-0 bashing of debutants New Caledonia.

Kick-off today is 5pm.

Super Eagles hopeful wins Goal of the Week

Al Ittihad striker George Ilenikhena, who could be called up for Super Eagles forthcoming 2027 AFCON qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea Bissau, has been rewarded for his fine form in Saudi Arabia with the Goal of the Week.

One of his two goals in the 2-1 victory over Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr won him the top prize.

In the absence of injured Victor Osimhen, Ilenikhena, who was born in Lagos but previously played for the France age-grade teams, could well be poised for his Super Eagles debut later this month.

He posted on his Instagram page a photo of him fully kitted in Super Eagles colours posing besides an imposing eagle.

Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle liked the post.

Eric Chelle has convinced the 20-year-old striker to change international allegiance to the Super Eagles after following him while he was still playing in France with AS Monaco.
