The scout who discovered new sensation Zadok Yohanna has revealed how he practically put his job on the line for Swedish club AIK to sign the youngster.

The scout, Herish Sadi, recalled: “I was really impressed when I watched him play as a number 10 and on the wing.

“There were a lot of scouts there, and we had to move fast.

“I called AIK’s CEO and said; How would a hundred million Krona (10 million Euros) feel? You need to close this deal right away.

“If he doesn’t turn out well, fire me. Fire me without compensation, I said.

“I negotiated with the president and managers there. I actually closed the deal that same evening, and he officially became an AIK player.”

The midfielder also bagged his fourth booking of the season in that game and as such he will miss his team’s next match at home against Antalyaspor Friday.

Besiktas lost the Istanbul Derby 1-0 at the weekend to deal a big blow to their title aspirations.

They are now a distant fourth in the standings with 52 points, 12 points behind leaders Galatasaray with six round of matches to the end of the regular season.

Galatasaray raise alarm: We’re missing Osimhen

Published

on

Galatasaray players have admitted the absence of Victor Osimhen has cost them valuable points.

Osimhen injured his arm last month in a UEFA Champions League tie at Liverpool and he is only expected to return to action later this month.

According to leading Turkish newspaper Sabah, the Galatasaray players met and did an assessment of their recent performances to come up with the conclusion that Osimhen’s absence has adversely affected their recent results.

“We’ve grown so used to Osimhen. When Osimhen is on the field, we’re getting results with forward pressure and pressing,” the newspaper quoted the players.

“(Mauro) Icardi isn’t Osimhen, and can’t play the same game with Icardi.”

Galatasaray have thus far dropped eight points in the absence of Osimhen and they are now just a point of second-placed Trabzonspor in the title race with six rounds of matches to the end of the season.
