Ajinkya Rahane-led North Mumbai Panthers might not have reached the semi-final last season, finishing at No. 5, but they have started with a comprehensive win in a high-scoring clash against the Triumph Knights Mumbai North East on Tuesday by 21 runs.

Meanwhile, Bandra Blasters, captained by Suved Parkar, were in action in the opening match. However, they were beaten by nine wickets by Eagle Thane Strikers, who made a mockery of a 190-run target, successfully chasing it in 15.2 overs.
