Osimhen strikes twice for Galatasaray to be champions for 4th straight season

Victor Osimhen delivered two goals tonight for Galatasaray to be crowned champions of Turkey for the fourth straight season before a rocking home crowd.

It will be Osimhen’s second Super Lig championship after his goals also helped Galatasaray win the competition last season.

Galatasaray thus topped the standings with 77 points from 33 matches, four points ahead of Fenerbache with a final round of matches to be played.

With bitter city rivals Fenerbache within striking distance going into the final two matches of the season, Galatasaray needed to beat relegation-threatened Antalyaspor tonight to seal the championship.

They did so, but not without some scare as Antalyaspor led 2-1 at a point in this match.

However, Osimhen rose the occasion by first converting a penalty he caused, before his stylish backheeled effort was deflected by an opposing defender into the net to make it 3-2.

He has now netted 15 goals in the Super Lig this season.

Galatasaray increased their lead to 4-2 deep into stoppage time.
