Swedish club AIK have issued an update on the injury that forced Zadok Yohanna to pull out of the Super Eagles squad to the Unity Cup.

AIK coach Jose Riveiro said the young winger will be sidelined until the World Cup break.

“One hundred percent (that Yohanna will miss the Sirius match), said the Spanish coach.

“It’s tough for Zadok. He was in good shape, enjoyed a lot and played football for us and for himself. Everyone was happy to see Zadok’s performance, so it’s sad for him to have this break, but it’s part of the job. He will be stronger after this.”

AIK recruitment chief Miika Takkula added: “The rehab has been positive and yesterday he did some individual things on the pitch. That’s positive.

“He won’t play against Hammarby (Sunday) and then we’ll see what the situation looks like next week.”

This is believed to be in connection with a possible major transfer involving the highly-rated winger amid reports that Millwall have turned down a 20 million pounds offer from promoted Ipswich Town for the player.

Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has congratulated Man of the Match Femi Azeez on his goal-scoring debut, but at the same faulted some of the things that the Millwall winger failed to do.

Femi Azeez made the dream debut with two goals for the Super Eagles to sink Zimbabwe and advance to the final of the Unity Cup Saturday in London.

“He scored two goals, I congratulate him, but he lost a lot of balls, so not happy with him even though he recovered some of these balls,” Eric Chelle said at the post-match media briefing.

“I also asked them to do the high pressing for the whole 90 minutes.”

The coach praised his experimental selection for “playing like a team who have been playing together for the past six months, one year”, saying they deserved their victory.

“It was not easy for some of the players to play for the first time against a strong team like Zimbabwe,” he said.

“But this is a friendly not a World Cup or AFCON qualifier.
