Group E:

  • Germany 7-1 Curacao

Germany produced a seven-star performance during the 7-1 drubbing of debutants Curacao in Group E of the on-going 2026 FIFA World Cup at the Houston stadium on Sunday, 14th June.

Germany had different scorers in Felix Kalu Nmecha, Nico Cedric Schlotterbeck, Kai Havertz (a brace), Jamal Musiala, Nathaniel Christopher Brown and Deniz Undav.

Livano Shyrpn Liomar Comenencia’s earlier equalizer turned into a mere consolation to give the scoreline a worthy respectable second look.

Borussia Dortmund’s Nmencha opened the scoring business for Germany as early as the 6th minute.

Nmecha of FC Zurich leveled for Curacao in the 21st minute.

The Germans restored their lead when another Broussia Dortmund player Schlotterback scored in the 38th minute.

Havertz got the first of his two goals on the day with a stoppage minute penalty as the first half ended 3-1.

Bayern Munich’s talisman Musiala got his name onto the score sheet moments after the second half kicked off.

VfB Stuttgart’s Brown made it 5-1 with a 68th minute explicit finish before Undav’s 78th minute goal.

Havertz capped the icing on the already baked cake with a wonder chip over the advancing goalkeeper in the 88th minute.

This is so far the biggest scoreline of the tournament.

African ambassadors Ivory Coast play Latin Americans Ecuador in the other group E contest at the Philadelphia stadium in Philadelphia city.

Group B:

  • Canada 1-1 Bosnia and Herzegovina

Qatar and Switzerland played to a 1-all draw in Group B during the 2026 FIFA World Cup at the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium on Saturday.

Breel Donald Embolo scored a first half penalty for Switzerland before Boualem Khoukhi’s late-late headed equalizer.

Embolo was well composed to score a penalty in the 17th minute after a VAR review.

The Rennes forward who was born in Cameroon sent the Qatar goalkeeper Mahmud Abunada the wrong way for the great goal.

Abunada had fouled Remo Freuler in the forbidden area.

With the game destined for a 1-0 victory in favour of Switzerland, Khouhkhi and Qatar had other thoughts altogether.
