The Lucknow Super Giants head to the Eden Gardens to take on the Kolkata Knight Riders on April 9, in Match 15 of the 2026 Indian Premier League. LSG got their campaign off to a start with their win against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 5 and will be looking to carry this momentum forward with a win against the Knight Riders.

Despite questions over their balance, they are slowly finding a team combination that is working for them. Blessed with a solid domestic bowling core and dangerous overseas batting options, they will pose a threat if their combinations are to click.

Here is the best potential playing XI for LSG for their match against KKR

Top order: Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, Rishabh Pant (C & WK)

Mitchell Marsh was the best batter for LSG in 2025, with 627 runs in 13 games. Playing as a pure batter, without bowling responsibilities, has freed up the Aussie. While he started with a good-looking 35 against the Delhi Capitals, he was dismissed for 14 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. His partner, Aiden Markram, returned to open against SRH and set the platform for their chase with a brilliant 45 off just 27 balls.

Rishabh Pant opened in the first game but had dismal results. He returned to bat at one-drop against the Sunrisers, against whom he anchored the chase with an unbeaten 68 off 50 balls. While he did not look his fluent best, the LSG skipper would be glad to have got runs to kick off the season.

Middle order: Nicholas Pooran, Ayush Badoni (impact player), Abdul Samad, Mukul Choudhary

Nicholas Pooran batted at No. 3 for LSG last season, scoring 524 runs in 14 games. But this season he has started slowly, with poor form persisting for the major part of the previous year. He is one of the most destructive batters in the shortest format, and it would be in LSG’s best interests if he could get runs under his belt.

Ayush Badoni will keep his place at No. 5 and is expected to come in as the impact player. Abdul Samad’s prowess as a six-hitter and bankable finisher iswell  known, and in Mukul Choudhary, LSG have a highly-rated domestic finisher.

Lower order/bowlers: Manimaran Siddharth, Avesh Khan, Mohammed Shami, Digvesh Singh Rathi, Prince Yadav

Mohammed Shami

The rejuvenated Mohammed Shami was at his best against the Sunrisers. With a spell of 4-0-9-2, he was threatening with the new ball and has led this domestic-heavy LSG attack to the best of his abilities. Prince Yadav has shown promise in the two games he has played with his accurate yorkers and high pace. Avesh Khan once again showed his value as a death bowler when he returned to the side in place of Mohsin Khan.

With the prominence of right-handers in the KKR batting lineup, M Siddharth is expected to keep his place. He was economical against the Sunrisers and picked up the wicket of Nitish Kumar Reddy. Digvesh Rathi, who did not have a great outing against Sunrisers despite bowling well in the powerplay, is expected to keep his place in the side.

Lucknow Super Giants predicted playing XI:

Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant (C & WK), Nicholas Pooran, Abdul Samad, Mukul Choudhary, Manimaran Siddharth, Avesh Khan, Mohammed Shami, Digvesh Singh Rathi, Prince Yadav

Impact Player: Ayush Badoni

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) return to the MA Chidambaram Stadium to face the Delhi Capitals (DC) in Match 18 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday, April 11.

CSK desperately need a win to kickstart their 2026 campaign. The five-time champions are rock bottom in the points table, having lost all three of their games this season. Their most recent loss came against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, where they fell 43 runs short while chasing 251.

DC, on the other hand, come into the game on the back of their maiden loss in the 2026 IPL, suffering a narrow one-run defeat to the Gujarat Titans. The team from the capital city failed to chase 13 runs off the last over despite the equation falling to two runs needed off two balls.

Both CSK and DC have experienced T20 players in their ranks. Ruturaj Gaikwad’s side has an excellent batting lineup, which hasn’t yet fired in the IPL so far this season. They would be up against a DC bowling unit that has been impressive in the opening three matches of the new campaign.

DC’s batters, meanwhile, would be up against CSK’s bowling, which has been underwhelming this season. The likes of KL Rahul, Pathum Nissanka and Sameer Rizvi have all been in great nick with the bat.

Here are 3 player battles for CSK vs DC, Match 18 of IPL 2026:

3. KL Rahul vs Khaleel Ahmed

There have been instances in the past where KL Rahul has struggled against left-arm pacers. The India wicketkeeper will have to face his struggles when he faces Khaleel Ahmed in the opening stages of the innings.

The duo have faced one another in seven separate innings in the IPL, with the right-handed batter scoring 51 runs at a strike-rate of 130.76. Khaleel, on the other hand, has dismissed Rahul just once in his tournament career.

2. Shivam Dube vs Kuldeep Yadav

This face-off has not happened too regularly in the IPL, but could take centre stage in the middle overs during the game on Saturday. Shivam Dube tends to target the spinners even when the field is spread out.

Kuldeep Yadav has bowled just seven balls to Dube, with the left-handed batter scoring five runs from it. The spinner has taken three wickets so far this season, whilst going at an economy rate of 9.45, the highest in his IPL career.

1. Sanju Samson vs Axar Patel

DC captain Axar Patel often tends to bring himself into the attack in the powerplay to trouble the fast-scoring opening batters. Sanju Samson, however, has not had a great start to his CSK stint, scoring just 22 runs off three innings.

Axar would be looking to exploit Samson’s form and get the better of his India teammate. The right-handed batter has not been allowed to score freely against Axar, hitting 70 runs from 12 innings at a strike-rate of just 111.11. The spin-bowling all-rounder has dismissed Samson twice in the IPL.

The Kolkata Knight Riders will take on the Lucknow Super Giants in Match 15 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the iconic Eden Gardens. The hosts will be eager to turn their campaign around after a disappointing start to the season.

Led by Ajinkya Rahane, KKR have struggled in the early stages of IPL 2026, currently sitting in eighth place with just one point from three matches. Their campaign began with back-to-back defeats against Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad, followed by a rain-abandoned clash against Punjab Kings.

With pressure already mounting, the Knight Riders will be keen to register their first win and gain some much-needed momentum. On the other hand, the Lucknow Super Giants will look to capitalise on KKR’s struggles and continue their push up the points table.

Here’s KKR’s predicted Playing XI vs LSG in Match 15, IPL 2026

Top-order: Ajinkya Rahane (C), Finn Allen, Cameron Green

Finn Allen

After a flying start at the Wankhede Stadium against Mumbai Indians, all has gone wrong for the KKR top-order. Led by Ajinkya Rahane, the KKR batting order can dismantle any bowling attack on a given day, but at the moment it is struggling for consistency.

After opting to bat first against Punjab Kings, KKR found themselves on 25/2 in 3.4 overs when the ball was swinging. They will be under pressure to deliver against LSG. Both Rahane and Allen have got starts, whereas Green has yet to deliver anything significant.

Middle-order: Angkrish Raghuvanshi (WK), Rinku Singh, Ramandeep Singh, Sunil Narine/Rovman Powell

Young Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been KKR’s best batter so far in IPL 2026. He has scored 110 in 3 innings, including two consecutive fifties in their first two matches. The Kolkata-based franchise would want him to continue the same form.

Whereas, the onus will be on the experienced duo of Rinku Singh and Ramandeep Singh to deliver strong finishes with the bat on a flat Eden Gardens wicket. Both of them are yet to shine with the bat in the ongoing competition. On the other hand, Rovman Powell’s inclusion will depend on Sunil Narine’s fitness. If the spinner is fit, he will walk into the playing XI.

Bowlers: Anukul Roy, Varun Chakaravarthy/Navdeep Saini, Vaibhav Arora, Kartik Tyagi

KKR’s bowling line-up is struggling and is being considered as one of the weakest in the competition. The left-arm spinner Aukul Roy will take on the frontline spinner’s role in this line-up. Depending upon Varun Chakaravarthy’s fitness and recovery, his participation will be decided. If he fails to recover, Navdeep Saini could take his place. Vaibhav Arora and Kartik Tyagi will lead the pace attack.

KKR’s predicted playing XI:

Ajinkya Rahane (C), Finn Allen, Cameron Green, Angkrish Raghuvanshi (WK), Rinku Singh, Ramandeep Singh, Anukul Roy, Sunil Narine/Rovman Powell, Varun Chakaravarthy/Navdeep Saini, Vaibhav Arora, Kartik Tyagi

IPL 2026: Gujarat Titans’s strongest predicted XI against Punjab Kings

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 finalists Punjab Kings will kick off their 2026 campaign against Gujarat Titans in the fourth match of the IPL 2026 on March 31 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur.

Like the past couple of seasons, Gill will continue to captain the Ahmedabad-based franchise in 2026. The team had a decent season last year, finishing third on the points table at the end of the group stages. They were eventually knocked out by the Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator of the competition. This year, they will be looking to go one step ahead, and that will start with a game against PBKS.

Here’s GT’s predicted Playing XI vs PBKS in Match 4, IPL 2026

Top-order: Shubman Gill (c), Sai Sudharsan, Jos Buttler

Arguably the most stable top-order in this year’s IPL is this GT top-order consisting of Gill, Sudharsan, and Buttler. This will be the most important cog in their batting line-up. Shubman Gill and Sudharsan will continue to open the batting for them. Their partnership in a very short period of time has become one of the most successful ones in IPL history.

England’s talisman Jos Buttler will be coming in at number 3 for them. Despite his horrific form with the bat lately, he can destroy any bowling line-up on a given day. If these three click, GT’s batting will flourish.

Middle-order: Washington Sundar, Shahrukh Khan, Jason Holder, Rahul Tewatia

GT’s middle order is flooded with all-rounders. Washington Sundar remains one of the most solid batters of their batting line-up with his solid batting technique. He will be used as a floater according to the match situation. M. Shahrukh Khan will be their aggressor with the bat, with his ability to hit big shots.

Holder and Rahul Tewatia will be used as finishing options by Shubman Gill’s side. Holder, with his experience, will be vital, whereas Tewatia is known for his match-winning cameos. Both can contribute with the ball as well.

Bowlers: Rashid Khan, Kagiso Rabada, Mohammad Siraj, Prasidh Krishna

This is a good and experienced bowling attack with all the international bowling options. Rashid Khan will lead the bowling attack with his experience. Kagiso Rabada, Mohammad Siraj, and Prasidh Krishna form a formidable pace-bowling trio, with all of them having wicket-taking abilities.

Prasidh was the Purple Cap holder in 2025, while Siraj was also quite impressive, and the Indian duo will look to strike important breakthroughs. Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore will come in as an Impact Player, after impressing everyone with left-arm orthodox spin in the previous season.

Impact Player: Sai Kishore
