Official: Club stopped Femi Azeez from Super Eagles friendlies
A top team official has informed SCORENigeria that English Championship club Millwall have stopped Femi Azeez from featuring in the Super Eagles friendlies against Poland and Portugal.
Femi Azeez was drafted to the Super Eagles squad for the friendlies as a direct replacement for Samuel Chukwueze after he shone at the Unity Cup in London.
However, his club Millwall stopped him from the matches.
“He was listed for the friendlies, but his club blocked him from the matches,” the official told SCORENigeria
This is believed to be in connection with a possible major transfer involving the highly-rated winger amid reports that Millwall have turned down a 20 million pounds offer from promoted Ipswich Town for the player.
Swedish club AIK stopped Zadok Yohanna from making his Super Eagles debut partly because he was injured and also because they are negotiating his transfer.

Super Eagles coach faults Man of Match Femi Azeez
Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has congratulated Man of the Match Femi Azeez on his goal-scoring debut, but at the same faulted some of the things that the Millwall winger failed to do.
Femi Azeez made the dream debut with two goals for the Super Eagles to sink Zimbabwe and advance to the final of the Unity Cup Saturday in London.
“He scored two goals, I congratulate him, but he lost a lot of balls, so not happy with him even though he recovered some of these balls,” Eric Chelle said at the post-match media briefing.
“I also asked them to do the high pressing for the whole 90 minutes.”
The coach praised his experimental selection for “playing like a team who have been playing together for the past six months, one year”, saying they deserved their victory.
“It was not easy for some of the players to play for the first time against a strong team like Zimbabwe,” he said.
“But this is a friendly not a World Cup or AFCON qualifier.
“All the same we deserved our victory and i am happy for the result.”
