Eric Chelle will have to pay the NFF compensation in the event he takes up another appointment as he still has a year left on his contract as Super Eagles coach.

Top officials informed SCORENigeria that the compensation could even go beyond the remaining contract fee, which will be around $600,000 as Eric Chelle earns $50,000 a month, as this would be deemed a breach of contract.

This week, Eric Chelle, 48, has been linked with the vacant post at French Ligue 1 club Olympique Marseille.

There were also interests from Guinea, Angola and Tunisia after the coach guided Nigeria to third place at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
