Road to Sports Club Villa Elections: Aspiring presidential candidate Meywa set to launch manifesto

Sports Club Villa is expected to conduct an elective assembly this year (exact date will be confirmed).

One of the persons who has openly expressed interest in the seat of the president, Hajji Farouq Meywa is gearing up for the road map.

Meywa, a former goalkeeper at the club is expected to launch his manifesto on Saturday, 14th February at Kanyanya in Kampala city.

“All is set for the official launch of my campaigns for Sports Club Villa presidency, starting with the fans in Kampala on Saturday, 14th February 2026 at Kanyanya playgrounds” Hajji Meywa, a shrewd businessman remarked.

The activities will commence with a procession from the Kampala Central Business District to Kanyanya where he will address the media.

Meywa shall then reveal his plans to the club fans in Kampala region as preparations intensify for the election of a new executive committee.

After a mega lunch, there will be a friendly match between Kazo and Kawempe managers against the Uganda Cranes legends.

Meywa will donate sets of jerseys, footballs and other prizes to selected teams as part of his outreach efforts.

Sports Club Villa management has already confirmed the 1st March 2026 as the day to release the election roadmap at East High School.

On the day, new Sports Club Villa fans with Villa Membership Trust (VMT) cards will be registered.

Hajji Omar Mandela is the current president for the Jogoos who remain the record Uganda Premier League winners with 17 trophies.

They have also won clinched 9 Uganda Cup titles and 3 CECAFA Club championships.

For starters, Sports Club Villa was founded in 1975.
