National Sports Commission Commends Fasino Powerlifters For Brilliant Outing In Cote d’Ivoire
Nigeria’s National Sports Commission (NSC) has sent a message of commendation to the management Fasino Powerlifting Club, following brilliant performances by their athletes in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

Sports247 gathered that the commendation came after the club’s contingent of four athletes scooped three gold medals and two individual awards at the Pure Powerlifting International Championship in the Ivorian capital.
Led by the club’s technical director and coach, Akinolawale Oredugba, the athletes also returned home with individual gongs for the second best and third best female lifters of the high-profile competition.
Details of the NSC’s accolades are contained in a media statement from the club under the tag ‘Three Gold Medals For Nigeria,’ with all the four lifters named specifically, while their officials also got a mention.
The media release disclosed in full, “Nigeria’s powerlifting community delivered a strong international statement as athletes of Fasino Powerlifting Club impressed at the Pure Powerlifting International Championship 2026 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
“Represented by Onome Omolola Didih, Emmanuel Tuesday, Blessing Adebimpe, and Favour Agboro, the Nigerian delegation secured a total of three gold medals and produced the second and third-best female lifters of the championship.
“The National Sports Commission commends the athletes, coaches, and support personnel for their discipline, resilience, and proud representation of Nigeria.”
