NFF cttee considers new coaches for Golden Eaglets, Flying Eagles
SCORENigeria can specially report that the NFF technical committee will meet Tuesday in Abuja to deliberate on the appointment of coaches for the Golden Eaglets, Flying Eagles and the Flamingos.
There are coaching vacancies in these national teams after they completed their respective campaigns.
Manu Garba failed to qualify the Golden Eaglets to the U17 AFCON after they were beaten in the WAFU B qualifiers, while coach Aliyu Zubairu led the Flying Eagles to the Round of 16 of the 2025 U20 World Cup in Chile.
Coach Bankole Olowokere again failed to meet expectations with the women’s U17 team, the Flamingos.
The committee had previously recommended to the NFF executive committee that there is a need to have new coaches to lead these teams.
One official told SCORENigeria: “You have to give other coaches the chance to show what they can do with these teams.
“Some of these coaches have long overspent their time with the national team.”
