Super Eagles star named head coach of MLS academy
Major League Soccer (MLS) team Minnesota United have named former Super Eagles invitee Fanendo Adi as head coach of their academy.
Adi, 35, was previously assistant coach of the academy across the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
He has a UEFA B and USSF National B coaching licenses.
“This is a perfect space for me to use my past experience as a player to help these young men develop and thrive into becoming professional footballers,” Adi said.
“I am grateful for the club’s belief in my expertise and i look forward to starting our season and getting to work.”
In his playing days, he featured for several MLS clubs like Portland Timbers, FC Cincinnati, Columbus Crew s well as Minnesota United.
The former Golden Eaglets striker was severally called up by the Super Eagles.
