NPFL ROUNDUP: Ikorodu City stay top despite home draw

Published

on

Ikorodu City maintained top spot in the NPFL after a 1-1 home draw with Bayelsa United, just as front runners Enugu Rangers and Nasarawa United continue to pile on the pressure.

The home draw ensures Ikorodu City now have 45 points from 27 matches, a point ahead of Enugu Rangers, who held hosts Katsina United to a scoreless draw at the weekend.

Nasarawa United are back in contention for the championship courtesy of a 1-0 home win over Bendel Insurance.

Rivers United are fourth in the standings with 43 points with four games in hand.

At the other end of the table are Kwara United, Remo Stars, Kun Khalifat and Bayelsa United.

Kwara United are rock bottom after three points were docked from them after the crowd trouble at their last game against Rivers United.

Their relegation worries were further compounded after they lost 1-0 at Abia Warriors Sunday.

They have 26 points from 27 matches.
