Goalkeeper Amas Obasogie, who made the cut for the 2025 AFCON with the Super Eagles, has denied match-fixing allegations against him and has vowed to clear his name.

Obasogie has been suspended for three months by Tanzanian club Singida Black Stars for allegedly manipulating the outcome of a CAF Confederation Cup match as well as a domestic game.

The former Bendel Insurance goalkeeper maintained he takes full responsibility for the goals he conceded in those games.

“I accept full responsibility for my performance in those matches, but mistakes on the field must not be mistaken for match manipulation,” he stated.
