Former Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa rolled back the hand of the clock when he was named Man of the Match as he scored the match winner for Kano Pillars in the city derby against Barau FC, while Rivers United maintained their leadership of the NPFL with a home win over Bayelsa United.

On the back of this derby victory, Pillars are 15th on the table on 35 points from 29 matches, two points above the relegation zone.

Rivers United beat Bayelsa United 3-1 in a rescheduled home game to stay two points ahead of second-placed Enugu Rangers in the title race.

The Port Harcourt club have two games in hand.

Rangers thrashed Remo Stars 4-1 to compound the relegation fears of the Ikenne club.

Remo Stars are bottom of the standings with 30 points from 29 matches.

Nasarawa United pipped Ikorodu City by the odd goal to remain third with 47 points.

In other matches, Kwara United won 2-1 at Katsina United, but still languish in the relegation zone in 18th position with 32 points, while there were home wins for Warri Wolves, Abia Warriors, Kun Khalifat and Wikki Tourist.
