Galatasaray raise alarm: We’re missing Osimhen

Published

on

Galatasaray players have admitted the absence of Victor Osimhen has cost them valuable points.

Osimhen injured his arm last month in a UEFA Champions League tie at Liverpool and he is only expected to return to action later this month.

According to leading Turkish newspaper Sabah, the Galatasaray players met and did an assessment of their recent performances to come up with the conclusion that Osimhen’s absence has adversely affected their recent results.

“We’ve grown so used to Osimhen. When Osimhen is on the field, we’re getting results with forward pressure and pressing,” the newspaper quoted the players.

“(Mauro) Icardi isn’t Osimhen, and can’t play the same game with Icardi.”

Galatasaray have thus far dropped eight points in the absence of Osimhen and they are now just a point of second-placed Trabzonspor in the title race with six rounds of matches to the end of the season.
