Super Eagles new defender sparks more interest
Rangers defender Emmanuel Fernandez, who recently made his Super Eagles debut, has continued to be a subject of interest as the summer transfer window approaches.
From the Premier League, Arsenal are reportedly the primary club interested in the London-born defender. Chelsea are also interested, West Ham United have been linked, and Everton are monitoring him.
In the Netherlands, Ajax and Feyenoord have been named as interested clubs.
German clubs Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen have expressed admiration.
It is also understood that the Belgian club Club Brugge are pursuing the player.
Rangers are reportedly expected to demand a minimum of £25m for Fernandez.
Some sources have suggested a valuation for him of up to £35m.
Fernandez has three years remaining on his contract.
The club’s asking price is also affected by a sell-on clause held by his former club, Peterborough United.
Rangers transfer model involves buying players for low fees and selling them for high fees, and the club are expected to accept an offer that meets their valuation.
Manager Danny Rohl has a hope of keeping Fernandez but has also acknowledged that it would be difficult to turn down a significant offer from the Premier League.
The player has made positive statements about his time at Rangers.

A source who is familiar to this transfer confirmed there has been a verbal agreement with Brighton on the player.
This was after the club agreed personal terms with the 18-year-old winger.

It was further gathered that the boy’s camp are more comfortable with Brighton because he will get game time, like the likes of Simon Adingra of Cote d’Ivoire got when he played there.

Abdullahi Bewene said he was proud to make his Super Eagles, just he has been widely praised for his solid display against Poland.
The Czech-based player played the entire duration as Nigeria were held to a 2-2 draw by the home team in Warsaw Wednesday night.
“I’m very happy and proud to represent my country, I’m ready to give more of this,” Bewene said.
“There are plenty of people in my country, I have to make them happy.”
His individual performance against Poland has not gone unnoticed as users of X have poured praised him.

Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi is now expected to join up with the Super Eagles squad for the friendly against World Cup-bound Portugal.
Iwobi missed the Poland friendly, which ended in a 2-2 draw in Warsaw.
Officials also expressed confidence that Bright Osayi-Samuel could rejoin the squad.
His place was taken up by Abdullahi Bewene in the Poland game.
Portugal will welcome the Super Eagles on Wednesday, June 10.
When both teams clashed prior to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the Portuguese ran away 4-0 winners.
