After retaining 12 players ahead of the auction, Kashi Rudras brought in Mohammad Sharim, Vaibhav Choudhary, Vijay Yadav, Virat Jaiswal, Manav Sindhu and Sahab Yuvraj Singh to complete their 18-member squad for the upcoming season.

Speaking after the auction, Sukhvinder Singh, Kashi Rudras representative, said,

“We have been able to add the firepower we wanted and tick the boxes we had planned going into the auction. Every season brings new challenges, and while we’ve been fortunate enough to win the title twice, we have to give our best. It’s a hardworking bunch of boys and we’re excited to see what they can achieve together as a group.”

While preparing for the new season, Kashi Rudras also took another step towards strengthening grassroots cricket with the launch of the Rudras Cup, the first regional scouting tournament of its kind by a UPT20 franchise.

Fans can now secure their seats for Europe’s newest cricket spectacle, with tickets available exclusively through Tixr.

The inaugural ETPL season will run from 26 August to 20 September 2026, bringing together six city-based franchises and some of the biggest names in world cricket across two iconic venues – Voorburg in the Netherlands and Malahide in Ireland.

History will be made on 26 August when Rotterdam Dockers take on Amsterdam Flames in the first-ever match in ETPL history.

Voorburg will host the opening phase of the competition before the action moves to Malahide for the remainder of the league stage, culminating in the Qualifier and the inaugural Final. The opening week will also feature an all-Irish clash as Belfast Wolves take on Dublin Guardians on the morning of 27 August, followed later that day by an all-Scottish derby between Edinburgh Castle Rockers and Glasgow Cosmic. Played in a double round-robin format, each franchise will face every other team twice.

The league leaders will progress directly to the Final, while the second and third-placed teams will contest the Qualifier for the remaining championship berth. Bringing together global T20 stars alongside leading players from Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands, ETPL promises a month of world-class cricket while accelerating the growth of the sport across Europe.

Lanka Premier League (LPL) Players’ Management Committee has approved the inclusion of Bangladesh captain Towhid Hridoy in the Jaffna Kings squad for the ongoing season.

Hridoy replaces fellow Bangladeshi international Taskin Ahmed, who has been ruled out of the tournament after being unable to join the squad due to unavailability.

“We are delighted to welcome Towhid Hridoy to the Lanka Premier League. He has emerged as one of Bangladesh’s most accomplished cricketers and brings both quality and leadership to the Jaffna Kings. While we wish Taskin Ahmed the very best, we are confident Hridoy’s arrival will further enhance the competition and give fans another exciting player to follow this season,” Anil Mohan Sankhdhar, Founder and CEO of IPG Group, the official rights holder of the Lanka Premier League, said in a press release.

The right-handed batter brings impressive T20 credentials to Jaffna Kings, having scored 4,057 runs in 168 T20 matches at an average of 30.73, including two T20 centuries and 23 half-centuries.

One of Bangladesh’s most dependable white-ball batters, Hridoy arrives in outstanding form after a string of impactful performances in international cricket. He has produced several match-defining knocks in 2026, including an unbeaten 51 off 27 balls against New Zealand and a composed 61 against Australia. He has also led Bangladesh with confidence since being appointed T20I captain.

He recently led the Bangla Tigers to a morale-boosting 2-1 T20I series win against Zimbabwe. The series win was important as it came after the Chevrons had beaten Bangladesh 2-1 in the preceding ODI leg. During the three T20Is, Hridoy registered scores of 14, 3, and 24. However, despite the lack of runs, he led the side brilliantly.

Jaffna Kings continue their campaign after registering one win and one loss from their opening two matches in Colombo. They will next take on Colombo KAPS in Dambulla, with Towhid Hridoy set to bolster the squad as they look to build momentum.
