AFCON 2027 PAMOJA Qualifiers: Five-star South Africa dispatch Eritrea
South Africa cruised to a comfortable victory over minnows Eritrea to maintain their perfect run in the 2027 AFCON PAMOJA Qualifiers.
Bafana Bafana swept aside minnows Eritrea on Wednesday, winning the one-sided affair 5-0 in Cairo, Egypt where the latter chose to host the game because they don’t have a CAF certified stadium back home.
Relebohile Mofokeng orchestrated the damage on Eritrea, bagging a first half brace to set the tone for South Africa.
His first came in the 19th minute when Oswin Appollis released him through on goal, to fire past the goalkeeper.
He later on doubled the advantage for South Africa at the stroke of half time with a personal effort, going past several players before firing into the bottom corner.
After recess, Sphephelo Sithole, Iqraam Rayners and substitute Luther Singh added a goal each to complete the rout.
South Africa now lead the table in Group D ahead of Guinea, Kenya and Eritrea.
