Ginebra demolishes San Miguel anew to move on brink of PBA semis
Ginebra moved one win away from advancing to the PBA Season 50 Governors’ Cup semifinals following another masterful conquest of San Miguel Beer, 126-99, on Friday night at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Unlike in their quarterfinal series opener last Tuesday, the Kings did not need a fourth-quarter pullaway this time, asserting control as early as the first quarter by knocking down eight of their 16 triples to build a 34-24 advantage.
And by the third canto, the game was already broken wide open, with the crowd darlings pouring 33 points to build a 102-82 lead entering the payoff period to eventually build a commanding 2-0 lead in the race-to-3 series.
Following yet another rout, the traditional contenders could finish it off in Game 3 on Tuesday, November 3, at the City of Dasmarinas Arena.
Jordan Murphy got the best of his pal George King once more and finished with a near-triple-double of 33 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists.
