VU Crocs battle JT Jaguars at the Den

Victoria University Crocs return to The Den in Kira for a National Basketball League battle with the home side JT Jaguars.

The Lady Jaguars, fresh from a dominant win over Pearl Queens, will take the court first against the She Crocs, who saw off Miracle Eaglets on the same floor last Saturday.

Brenda Kayaga was superb in the victory for the Lady Jaguars and will be looking to continue the fine form.

At the Den, the Lady Jaguars are most likely to play a lot of quick transition basketball, with Priscillar Nambogo, Kayaga, and Mainmuna Nabbosa running the floor, which the league newcomers will have trouble stopping.

In Bridget Aber, Mercy Batamuliza and Sarah Ageno, theLady Jaguars also boast a strong interior presence that will give Fancine Mukendi, Ayak Ngor and Faridah Kadondi a lot of work to do on the defensive end.

In the men’s category, coach Sudi Ulanga will be hoping for better offensive output from his charges, who struggled terribly in their season opener against KCCA Panthers.

While the Jaguars played relatively well on the defensive side of the ball, the struggles at the other end were apparent with many broken plays and poor shooting.

Duncan Lubwama and Fadhil Chuma, who direct the Jaguars’ offense, will have to do a better job in the halfcourt. Peter Sifuma and George Agasi were casual while Mark Were did not shoot particularly well despite hitting a clutch 3-pointer.

The Crocs had a perfect start to the season, seeing off the struggling Kampala Rockets. Roger Serunyigo’s men did not run many half-court sets but used fastbreak opportunities with Mark Ngobi, Cedric Alema and Chuol Nyuot running the floor.
