Villa desperate to beat Maroons and re-enter title race
Thursday February 19, 2026
- Kitara vs URA – Royal Park, Butema 4pm
- SC Villa vs Maroons – Fufa stadium, Kadiba 8pm
Following disappointing back-to-back stalemates, SC Villa host Maroons at Kadiba desperate to return to winning ways.
The four dropped points have seen the Jogoos fall further behind in the title race but with leaders Vipers also faltering in their last two fixtures, a win for Villa put them firmly back in the race.
At the moment, they are eight points behind with 30 and victory would trim that to three and perhaps put the Venoms under pressure.
Maroons will be a tough opponent despite losing their last outing 1-0 to Kitara but will be buoyed by their past two wins in a row against SC Villa including the reverse fixture in Luzira.
Zeljko Kovacevic will hope his blunt forwards in the past games led by Frank Ssebuufu show up in lethal mood.
Elsewhere on the day, Kitara host URA at Royal Park Butema aware that a win will lift them to the top of the standings on better H2H against current leaders Vipers following the boardroom decision that awarded them 3 goals and as many points in the aborted match on October 4.
