Four persons have duly expressed interest in the president’s seat at Sports Club Villa by picking up the nomination forms.

Incumbent Hajj Omar Ahmed Hussein is joined by Bulezi Kawuma, Denis Ssebugwawo Mbidde and Hajj Farouk Meywa.

The development was confirmed by the chairperson of the Sports Club Villa electoral commission, Brian Kajubi, on Thursday evening at Kulambiro in Kampala.

Addressing the media, Kajubi, a sports lawyer who has also previously handled the elections at the Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC), promised a fair and transparent electoral process.

“The Sports Club Villa electoral commission shall comply with the electoral laws with fairness and transparency. We deliver a peaceful and democratic electoral process. We shall not bow to external forces. We shall be guided by the legal instruments, the Sports Club Villa electoral code. We are competent and confident,” Kajubi revealed.

He outlined the four legal instruments that they will dwell upon as the Villa Members Trust Deed, Sports Club Villa regulations, the electoral code and all applicable principles of the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) and the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Governance.

He boldly outlined the roadmap to the 22nd March 2026 elections, with the deadline for registration of fans as the 15th March 2026.

On the 7th March 2026, it will be the last day that the persons who picked the forms are expected to return them by the deadline, before the verification of the forms.

8th March 2026 will be the vetting of candidates by the Trustees, and the 10th March 2026 will be the day for any complaints to be handled by the Sports Club Vila ADHOC Committee.

Thereafter, the successful candidates will be declared on the same day, ahead of the elections on Sunday, 22nd March 2026.

“Voting will be by secret ballot, and we are yet to ascertain whether the fans in diaspora will be able to participate in the voting with the right mechanism,” Kajubi added.

The Sports Club Villa electoral committee, chaired by Kajubi, also has Afande Fred Enanga, Brandon Kajura and Desire Mukisa.
