Middle East bombings may force Super Eagles to play in Europe
Due to the heavy bombings in the Middle East, a proposed invitational tournament involving the Super Eagles may now be moved to Europe, officials said.
The Super Eagles are scheduled to feature in a tournament in Jordan later this month that would also involve fellow 2026 World Cup qualifiers Iran.
The Super Eagles will face Iran on March 27 in Amman and four days later take on hosts Jordan in a tournament to prepare both nations for the forthcoming World Cup.
However, the on-going attack by the USA and Israel on Iran has raised serious concerns over this tournament.
Organisers are now mulling the idea of the Super Eagles facing Jordan in Europe during that international break, while another option would be for the entire tournament itself to be moved to Europe.
It is now expected that a clearer solution would be found leading up to the March friendlies.
