NEC extended their unbeaten streak to eleven premier league matches with a 1-0 win over Police at the Kiira Road Police Arena on Friday.

Muhamad Kagawa Ssenoga scored the only goal of the game in the second half heading home a well-crafted free kick by Hakim Wandera in the 67th minute.

The three points took the NEC tally to 34 points, just a point behind the Cops who have now lost two of three home matches.

For better parts of the game, the visitors were the better side and only kept at bay by Mathias Muwanga’s magic saves although at the other end, Bedia Ikamba alongside Lawrence Tezikya threatened often.

Elsewhere, Mbarara City frustrated BUL in a goalless draw at home to improve survival chances while Kitara walloped Buhimba United Saints in the Bunyoro derby at the new Hoima City stadium to move within a point of leaders Vipers who host Calvary on Saturday.
