Magic Stomers secured a hard-fought 75-73 victory in the National Basketball League encounter at Lugogo Indoor Arena on Wednesday.

This is Magic Stomers’ second victory in six outings. Their first win was registered against Nabisunsa while the other four encounters have ended in defeat.

The Magic Stomers started on a low note, trailing by 20 points at the end of the opening stanza where they were limited to only six points (26-06).

In the second stanza, the Magic Stormers greatly improved on their defence as they won the quarter 24-19 hence reducing the deficit margin to 15 points.

Coming from the long break, the Stomers kept the foot of the gas pedal taking the fight to the KIU Rangers as the input paid off as they only trailed by seven points going into the final period.

With 18 seconds left on the clock, the Rangers still held onto a two-point lead but Joy Nekesa dropped one from downtown before Gimbo Babra was fouled, she moved to the line and converted one of the two.

On the end of the day, the Magic Stormers secured a hard-fought victory. Kur Ajah managed a double-double scoring 13 points and pulling down 10 rebounds.

Daphine Adong (25 points) and Jesca Namugala (18 points) also scored in double digits for the Magic Stormers.

For the KIU Rangers, Ines Kanyamuneza managed a double-double dropping 15 points and cleaning the boards 15 times. Sharon Kirabo (31 points) and Anena Charity (14 points) also scored in double digits.
