FUFA suspends match officials for poor officiating
FUFA has come out to bite hard on the issue of poor officiating, which has been a concern in the Uganda Premier League this season.
Therefore, FUFA through its Referees Disciplinary Panel has come out with punishments for errors they committed in recent games.
Buhimba United vs Police
Six officials suspended for 3 months for breach of match officiating standards- Referee Musisi Henry, assistant referees Kinyera Fred and Mbabali Samuel, fourth official Ssemakula John, match commissioner Kugonza Ssemu Christopher and referee assessor Kimbugwe Hillary Godfrey and will undertake a refresher course.
It should be noted that the officials allowed Buhimba United player Eric Nyonyintono to feature in the game despite having a different colour of the jersey from the rest of his teammates.
SC Villa vs Express
Assistant refree Immaculate Ongiera is suspended for three months for incorrectly flagging offside Hassan Mubiru’s would be goal.
Police vs SC Villa
Referee Emmanuel Okudra has also been handed a three-month suspension for disallowing a legtimate SC Villa goal.
