Cash will decide future of Golden Eaglets winger
The budget of Croatian club NK Osijek will determine whether or not to take up the purchase option on former Golden Eaglets winger Samuel Akere.
Alen Petrović, the former sports director of Osijek, stated that Akere, 22, is one of four players who joined Osijek this winter on loan with an option to buy.
According to Petrović, Akere’s salary at Osijek is lower than at his parent club, and all four players who arrived on loan this winter have lower salaries than in their original clubs.
He also stated that whether Osijek will exercise the purchase option depends on the club’s budget, including the transfer fee and salary considerations.
In the previous summer, Polish club Widzew Łódź paid Botev Plovdiv of Bulgaria 750,000 euros for Akere.
