Besiktas, Esperance pay tribute to fallen Super Eagles star Eneramo

Tributes have flooded in from several foreign clubs for former Super Eagles striker Michael Eneramo, who died in Kaduna Friday from a suspected cardiac arrest while playing a match.

Eneramo, 40, played for several Turkish clubs including Besiktas and Sivasspor and they have both mourned his passing.

“We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Michael Eneramo,” Besiktas, known as ‘The Black Eagles’, posted on X

“We extend our condolences to his family and loved ones.

“Rest in peace, Michael.”

Sivasspor said Eneramo “will always be remembered for the battles he fought under our red-and-white jersey”.

He scored 38 goals and made 19 assists in 109 appearances for Sivasspor.

Tunisian giants Esperance simply posted on X: “Thank you for the memories and for everything you bought to the club.

“You will remain forever in our hearts.”

Eneramo won five championships with Esperance and was the highest scoring foreign player in the club’s history with 54 goals.
