Has transfer fever caught up with Onyedika?
Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika has lost his spot in the Club Brugge first-team amid speculations that his form has dipped because his mind is on a transfer this summer.
Head of football at Het Nieuwsblad, Ludo Vandewalle, has praised the Club Brugge coach for dropping Onyedika.
Hugo Vetlesen was again picked ahead of Onyedika, he shone and Club Brugge won 2-0 at Gent.
“A good decision (by Club Brugge coach) with the Nigerian, who seems to have lost his way a bit due to transferitis, and Hugo Vetlesen, who once again did a good job as his replacement,” Vandewalle said.
In January, Onyedika was linked to several top clubs including Galatasaray, Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany as well as a handful of Premier League clubs.
However, a transfer did not happen with reports suggesting that Club Brugge held on to him for the UEFA Champions League campaign and that they would only be open to sell for good money this summer.
