NPFL relegation dog fight goes to the wire
With only three rounds of matches to the end of the NPFL season, it is still a tight contest at both ends of the table and so every point will now have to count.

At top, leaders Enugu Rangers, Rivers United, Ikorodu City, Abia Warriors, Shooting Stars, Nasarawa United and Bendel Insurance are all still in the title race, while at the wrong end of the standings, as many as 12 teams are mathematically not safe from relegation to the second-tier NNL.
The difference between 13th-placed Enyimba and bottom team Wikki Tourist is three points, meaning that the battle for survival in the Nigerian top flight will go down to the final day of the campaign on May 24.
After the break caused by the state President Federation Cup finals across the country, league action will resume tomorrow with a lot of interest on the four teams that will be demoted to make way for promoted Doma United, Ranchers Bees. Sporting Lagos and Inter Lagos.

Week 36 results will most certainly give a clearer idea of the teams to be relegated in this 38-match championship.
Enyimba (13th, 43 points) will be home to Remo Stars (16th, 43 points), Niger Tornadoes (14th, 43 points) battle Kwara United (15th, 43 points), while Kun Khalifat (18th, 40 points) will home for maximum points at home against Kano Pillars (12th, 45 points).
