History beckons for DR Congo on their return to the World Cup after 52 years as they target to reach the knock out stages for the first time.

The Leopards held favourites Portugal to a 1-1 draw but suffered a heartbreaking 1-0 defeat to Colombia in their second game.

However, with a single point in third place, Sebastien Desabre’s men will qualify for the round of 32 with a win against Uzbekistan who are without a point and literally out of the tournament.

With Portugal and Colombia facing off in the other Group K game battling for top spot, all DR Congo need is to beat Uzbekistan.

Portugal on four points could dislodge Colombia from the top if they beat the South American side.

Cedric Bakambu, Yoane Wissa and Chancel Mbemba must all be at their mercurial best if the Congo is to go through.
