FIFA funds 30 female coaches in Uganda

World Football governing body, FIFA has confirmed supporting 30 female coaches in Ugandan to enroll for a coaching course.

FUFA, revealed that FIFA has fully funded a total of 30 female coaches to undertake the CAF C Coaching Course which is already under at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

“The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has received FIFA scholarships for 30 Ugandan women coaches to undertake an exclusive CAF C Coaching Course for women. The initiative is aimed at strengthening the pathway for women to acquire coaching qualifications and take up technical roles across the game.” Reads the statement on FUFA’s website.

The CAF C Coaching Course provides an important foundation for women entering the coaching profession, while also supporting former and current players seeking to transition from playing into coaching.

The knowledge and competencies acquired will support their work across grassroots, youth, academies, schools and club football.

The course is part of the FIFA Women’s Football Development Strategy that has made several interventions towards the growth of the game in Uganda.

Over the years, the Programme has seen organization of several administrative workshops, kits, boots and football equipment among others.
