On-form KCCA dispatch Lugazi to extend winning streak

KCCA continued with their brilliant run of good performances, overcoming Lugazi on Saturday in Najjembe.

The Kasasiro Boys have made a turnaround of fortunes in recent weeks, winning five games on the bounce across all competitions (4 Wins in the League and one in the Uganda Cup).

On Saturday, The Citizens made light work of Lugazi, earning a comfortable 3-0 win to keep within the title range.

Saidi Mayanja opened the scoring in the 19th minute when Lugazi goalkeeper Allan Batali Igama spilt the ball into his path.

The diminutive midfielder turned provider in the second half, setting up on-form striker Ivan Ahimbisibwe, who fired home in the 57th minute to double the advantage for the visitors.

A minute after the half-hour mark, defender Paul Wasswa scored into his own net when Ahimbisibwe put him under pressure.

Victory means KCCA remain third on 45 points, two adrift of leaders Vipers, who play Calvary later on today.

On the other hand, Lugazi are 12th on the table with 18 points, only four above the drop zone.
