JKL Lady Dolphins have suffered their National Basketball League second loss on the bounce thanks to UPDF Lady Tomahawks.
UPDF Lady Tomahawks secured a hard-fought 72-55 victory against JKL Lady Dolphins in the 2026 NBL encounter at YMCA Court, Wandegeya on Wednesday.
Both sides came out of their blocks early seeking to take an early command of the game. Flavia Oketcho’s long shot beyond the paint as the two sides tied 20-20 at the end of the opening period.
The Lady Tomahawks increased the intensity of the game tiring the Lady Dolphins. The fight opened up a six-point lead (41-35) going into the long break.
Coming from the halftime break, it was a much slower game as the teams tied (13-13) while the Lady Tomahawks held onto the six-point lead going into the final period.
In the final quarter, it was one-way traffic as the Lady Dolphins were limited to only seven points. The Lady Tomahawks went away with a commanding 17-point victory.
Stella Maris (16 points), Ruth Letaru (14 points) and Linda Aber led the Lady Tomahawks’ scoring chart in double digits.
On the other hand, Tamasha Nsubuga (21 points) and Oketch Flavia (18 points) scored double digits for the Lady Dolphins.
