Ademola Lookman not ready to return – Atletico Madrid
Ademola Lookman will not feature for Atletico Madrid in tomorrow’s La Liga home game against Athletic Bilbao after initial optimism he would have shaken off his injury problems.
“Ademola Lookman is not ready for tomorrow yet, it’s a good thing we took him off in the Copa final,” said Atletico coach Diego Simeone, who had earlier expressed confidence the Super Eagles forward will return for Saturday’s clash.
The player complained of pains around his abductor and so has been training apart from the squad and was left out of the La Liga loss at Elche as a precaution.
Atletico are wrapping him in cotton wool ahead of next week’s UEFA Champions League first leg semifinal at home against Arsenal.
