Osimhen charges Galatasaray after heaviest loss of season
Victor Osimhen has charged Galatasaray to push ahead for a fourth straight Super Lig crown after they suffered their heaviest defeat of the season at Samsunspor.
Osimhen assisted for his team’s opening goal Saturday only for the home team to fight back and thrash Galatasaray 4-1 to throw wide open the title race in Turkey.
Fenerbache thus closed the gap at the top of the standings to four points with two rounds of matches to the end of the season.
Osimhen remained bullish after the defeat at Samsunspor.
“We need to keep going,” he charged.
“We need to win our match at home in front of our fans to be champions.
“Nothing has changed for me, and my team will give everything in the upcoming matches.”
He added: “We let our fans down. What’s done is done.
“We need to focus on the next match.”
Galatasaray will welcome relegation-threatened Antalyaspor Saturday and victory will earn them a fourth consecutive Turkish championship.
