NEC’s extended unbeaten streak on the line against SC Villa

NEC’s nineteen match unbeaten streak faces SC Villa test as the two sides complete match day 29.

The hosts are unbeaten since December 12 when they lost 2-1 to KCCA and have gone 19 matches in all competitions without outright defeat.

Badru Kaddu’s men still believe they can finish above the record champions who are in 4th place with 55 points.

Seven points separate the two sides with the hosts having a game in hand that will clearly go their way after Buhimba United Saints failed to make it to Lugogo on match day 28.

Richard Basangwa and company will lead the hunt for goals against the best backline in the league manned by youngster Barasa Mangoli and Geoffrey Lubangakene.

Up front for Villa, Zeljko Kovacevic could right a few changes but as usual, Frank Ssebuufu, Patrick Kakande and Hassan Mubiru could maintain a three-man attack.

Already, Villa has faced NEC twice (league and Fufa Super 8) and won them.

Overall, the two sides have met six times with Villa on top with four wins [L2].
