Uzoho set to captain Super Eagles
Newly crowned Cypriot champion with Omonia Nicosia Francis Uzoho could be the man to lead out the Super Eagles tomorrow night against Zimbabwe in the Unity in the absence of Wilfred Ndidi and Moses Simon.
Uzoho, who was Nigeria’s No 1 goalkeeper at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, gave a hint of this at today’s pre-match press conference.
‘It’s an honour playing so long for the national team, representing my country,” said the shot stopper who made his Super Eagles debut in 2017.
“Eventually, I’m about to have the band (captain’s), if the coach picks me for the game.”
The other goalkeepers in camp, Arthur Okonkwo and Michael Atata, are yet to be capped by Nigeria.
