Four clubs promoted, four demoted as the 2025/26 FUFA Big League climaxes

FUFA Big League 2025/26:

  • Champions: Blacks Power Football Club (55 points)
  • 2nd: Ntugasaze Football Club (53 points)

Promoted Clubs:

  • Blacks Power, Ntugasaze, Kataka, Kigezi Home Boyz

Relegated Clubs:

  • Mbale Heroes, Wakiso Giants, Soltilo Bright Stars, Nebbi Central

It was excitement during the climax of the 2025/26 FUFA Big League season on Saturday, 6th June 2026.

The overall champion (Blacks Power Football Club), the fourth promoted club to the Uganda Premier League (Kataka) and the other three demoted clubs to join Mbale Heroes (Wakiso Giants, Soltilo Bright Stars and Nebbi Central) were all determined on the final match day of the season.

The season was very competitive with virtually every match day counting a great deal right from the kick off last year.

On the final match day, twenty (20) goals were scored from the different matches across the various venues.

The Iganga Young’s 6-2 victory away to Mbale Heroes at the Mbale City stadium produced the most goals on the day.

This was followed by Young Elephant Academy’s home 4-0 win over Wakiso Giants at the Elephant Park in Nwoya district.

Ntugasaze won 3-0 away at Kiyinda Boys in the other easy victory.

Kataka defeated Soltilo Bright Stars 2-0 at the Coffee stadium in Bugolobi with Ali Ssentamu (penalty) and Usama Khayemba on target.

Others were narrow wins; CATDA’s shock 1-0 triumph over Kigezi Home Boyz in Kabale; Paidha Black Angel’s success over Nebbi Central.

The contest between Onduparaka and Blacks Power ended goalless at the Ababet Greenlight stadium in Arua.

Promotion:

Four clubs were confirmed promoted to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League; Blacks Power (champions with 55 points), Ntugasaze (53), Kataka (51) and Kigezi Home Boyz (51).

These now make the Uganda Premier League a total of 18 clubs for the season 2026/27; replacing the two demoted sides; Buhimba United Saints and Calvary.

Relegation:

In the same spirit, four clubs were demoted to the respective regional leagues.

Mbale Heroes (17 points), Wakiso Giants (31 points), Soltilo Bright Stars (32 points) and Nebbi Central (34 points) were all relegated.

Blacks Power Football Club will be crowned at the Ebenezar University playground in Lira city on Sunday (7th June 2026) at 10 AM.

The FUFA Big League is organized by the FUFA Competitions department.
