NLO: Coach Richard Nwosu Reveals Secrets Behind Chekas FC’s Impressive Run, Eyes NNL Promotion 

Chekas FC head coach Richard Nwosu has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to secure promotion to the Nigeria National League (NNL) after an outstanding campaign in the 2026 Nationwide League One (NLO).

Chekas FC finished top of their group after recording five wins and one draw in six matches, remaining unbeaten throughout the group stage.

The team also boasted an impressive defensive record, keeping five clean sheets during the campaign.

Their strong performances have now earned them a place in the next phase of the promotion playoffs, where they will face Hephzibah FC in a crucial battle for a place in the NNL.

Speaking with Sports247 after the conclusion of the group stage, Coach Nwosu praised his players, management, and supporters for their commitment and determination throughout the season.

“First of all, I want to congratulate my players, management, and supporters for an excellent group stage campaign,” Nwosu said.

“Going 17 matches unbeaten in all competitions reflects the hard work, discipline, and unity within the team.”

The tactician also revealed the major factors behind Chekas FC’s consistency and success so far this season.

“What has worked for us is our consistency, team spirit, and strong mentality,” he added.

“As we head into the playoffs, we remain focused, humble, and determined. We know the challenge will be tougher, but we will take it one game at a time and give our best to achieve our goal, which is to gain promotion to the NNL.”

Nwosu further appreciated the club’s supporters for standing behind the team during the campaign and appealed for continued encouragement as the club approaches a decisive stage of the season.

“We appreciate everyone who has supported us so far and ask for their continued support as we enter this crucial stage of the season,” he concluded.

Chekas FC will now shift attention to their playoff clash against Hephzibah FC, with promotion hopes firmly alive after an impressive unbeaten run.
