Newcomers Ntugasaze appoint veteran Dudu Bosco ahead of Premier League debut
Uganda Premier League debutants Ntugasaze FC have officially appointed veteran tactician Dudu Bosco as their new head coach ahead of the highly anticipated 2026/27 campaign.
The club confirmed the appointment via its official social media channels, validating earlier reports that Bosco was the frontrunner to take over the hot seat.
Bosco replaces Morgan Chancely, the man who successfully masterminded Ntugasaze’s historic promotion to the top flight last season.
The coaching shake-up comes on the heels of strict new regulations from the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA).
The governing body has made it mandatory for all Uganda Premier League head coaches to hold a CAF A Coaching License as their minimum qualification starting this season.
While Chancely’s promotion heroics captured the hearts of fans, his lack of the required CAF A certification forced the club to look elsewhere.
Bosco fits the federation’s bill perfectly and brings a wealth of top-flight experience to the newcomers. He has previously been a coach in the top-tier league with Calvary and NEC
Ntugasaze FC enter the top tier with one primary objective: avoiding relegation. The club’s hierarchy is banking heavily on Bosco’s extensive knowledge of local football to navigate the notoriously ruthless waters of the Premier League and establish the team as a permanent fixture.
The 2026/27 Uganda Premier League season is officially scheduled to kick off on August 28, 2026. Fans can expect the league’s official fixture list to drop a month earlier in late July, giving Bosco a brief pre-season window to whip his new squad into competitive shape.
