Alfred Mudekereza: Vipers confirm goalkeeper’s departure

Uganda Premier League side Vipers SC has confirmed the departure of goalkeeper Alfred Mudekereza.

The development was made today, Thursday, July 9 via the club’s official social media platforms.

“Vipers SC can confirm that goalkeeper Alfred Mudekereza has left the club,” the statement partly reads.

“We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Mudekereza for his contribution for four seasons and wish him the very best for the future,” the club added.

The club further described the custodian as a huge personality on and off the pitch making him a valuable member of the squad that will be missed.

The Congolese custodian joined the Kitende-based side in July 2022 and has been at the club for four years.

Mudekereza’s stay at the club has been successful because he has won three Uganda Premier League titles and two Uganda Cups.

He will be much remembered as the goalkeeper who guided Vipers to the CAF Champions League group stages after a great show against DR Congo’s TP Mazembe.

He becomes Vipers’ fourth departure after the club earlier confirmed the exits of defender Grant Matsiko, midfielder Taddeo Lwanga, and goalkeeper Bashir Ssekagya.
